Welcome to the first of many blogs from the Cryotek team!
The first piece of news today is that Microsoft are extending their SideWinder range of gaming peripherals.
First up and available soon is the SideWinder X6 keyboard. It has a removable keypad which can be switched to either right side or left side configuration and can also be switched between a standard keypad and a macro pad in gaming mode.
Of course, fans of things that light up - guilty as charged
– will be pleased to know that the keyboard is backlit in red, while the keypad and macro keys are amber in game mode. The backlighting is fully adjustable via the two dials on the keyboard.

The second SideWinder product that seems to be highly anticipated is the X8 wireless gaming mouse which uses Microsoft’s new BlueTrack technology and offers between 250 and 4000dpi selectable as low, medium and high using the dpi selector and LCD screen.
Microsoft say that it offers up to 30 hours of active gaming on a single charge, but you can also use the ‘play-and-charge’ cable for non-stop action.
The SideWinder X8 should be available in February 2009. More details can be found on Microsoft’s website here:

Although there are currently no more details or images on Microsoft’s hardware site, a quick search around the net for the X8 will list some sites that have had a hands-on preview with some detailed images.
